Calculate astronomers Largest Mass Black Holes

Measuring 6.6 billion solar mass black hole in the center of the galaxy M87 is the largest black hole where the mass has been measured precisely.

Black Holes M87

By using the Frederick C. Gillett Gemini Telescope on Mauna Kea, Hawaii, a team of astronomers to calculate the mass of the black hole, which is larger than the black hole is located in the center of the Milky Way, which is about 4 million solar masses.

Astronomer Karl Gebhardt of the University of Texas, Austin, presented the results of the research team on Wednesday, January 12, in the 217th meeting of the American Astronomical Union. He said that the horizon of the black hole, which is 20 billion km, four times larger than the orbit of Neptune and three times bigger than the orbit of Pluto. In other words, the black hole can "swallow" the whole of our solar system.

Previous astronomers have estimated the mass of the black hole is about 3 billion times the solar system, so their results are somewhat surprising. To calculate the mass of the black hole, the astronomers measured how fast the stars in orbit around the black hole. They found that, on average, the stars orbit at speeds of nearly 500 km per second (for comparison, the sun orbits the black hole at the center of the Milky Way galaxy about 220 km per second). From these observations, the astronomers conclude that the most accurate estimate of the mass of the black hole that is super big.
Astronomers assume that the M87 black hole grow to be very big by joining with several other black holes. M87 is the largest galaxy in the nearby universe, and were formed by the merger of approximately 100 galaxies were smaller.

Although the black hole is located about 50 million light-years away, he is regarded as our neighbors in the perspective of cosmology. Because of the large size and relative proximity, astronomers assume that it is the first black holes that they can actually "see". So far, no one has ever found evidence of direct observation of black holes. Their existence is inferred from indirect evidence, particularly how they affect their surroundings.

M87 black hole probably would not long retain his title, since astronomers plan to continue looking for and calculate measurements of many other black holes. One planned project involves connecting telescopes from around the world to observe the universe at wavelengths shorter than one millimeter. This might allow scientists to detect black shadow of the M87 black hole horizon. It may also allow scientists to calculate the size of other black holes located in a galaxy about 3.6 billion light-years.

Bring water to Earth asteroids!

Frozen water on the asteroid was probably a more reasonable than ever considered before, according to new research that will help support the idea that asteroids brought the key to life on Earth.

Ice water and organic molecules that help the formation of life has been found on the basis of so-called second asteroid 65 Cybele by astronomers.

The findings were reported at a meeting of planetary scientists in Pasadena, where scientists say that the presence of ice is taken to support theories that life on Earth came from space after being brought here by asteroids.

The researchers got the same discovery in April this year when they found the first evidence of ice on an asteroid called 24 Themis.

Both this and the recent discovery asteroid discovered in the asteroid belt that lies between Mars and Jupiter.

"These findings indicate that a part of our solar system contains more water ice than anticipated," said Professor Humberto Campins who is an astronomer at the University of Central Florida, who led the research team said as quoted by the Telegraph.

"This supports the theory that asteroids may hit the Earth at the same time bring a supply of water and the building blocks of life to form and evolve on our planet."

Professor Campins presented his findings at the annual meeting of the Planetary Science Division of the American Astronomical Society in Pasadena, California.

Asteroid 65 Cybele is 289 km in diameter somewhat larger than asteroid 24 Themis 199 km in diameter.

8 Sky Objects Biggest Ever Found

Universe always brings mystery to mankind. Wonder at the beauty that gives a lot of input presented to us as human beings for the firm and confident belief that we owe to the creator.
The beauty of the universe you can see by using a variety of optical devices. But you can also see the portrait of the universe in some media, or Museu universe in the area where you are. Here I will give you some amazing photos, and will increase your confidence to admire the work of His creation.

1. The biggest star

VY Canis Majoris is a star located in the constellation Canis Major. With a size between 1800 and 2100 solar radii, is the largest known star and also one of the most enlighten. located about 1.5 kiloparsecs (4.6 × 10 16 km) or about 4900 light years from Earth. Unlike most stars, VY CMA is a single star. He is a star which has an estimated period of 2200 days.

2.The biggest Planet

TrES-4 is an extrasolar planet, discovered in 2006 by Trans-Atlantic Exoplanet Survey using the transit method. within 1400 light years (430 pc) away in the constellation Hercules. size is 0.919 times bigger than Jupiter but 1.799 times its diameter, it gives an average density of only about 0.333 grams per cubic centimeter. This makes the Tres-4b manjadi largest planet at once with the lowest density.

3. largest constellation

Is the constellation Hydra (constellation), the largest of the 88 modern constellations. Hydra (Sea Dragon) is a constellation (the constellation), the largest. This constellation covering an area of 1302.844 square degrees or covering 3.16% of the entire sky and consists of at least 68 stars can be seen with the naked eye.

4. Largest galaxies

IC 1011 is the largest galaxies have been found in the universe! he is 1 billion light years away that (at z = 0.0767) in the galaxy cluster Abell 2029. IC 1101 has a size of around 6 million light-years, thus 60 times larger than the Milky Way galaxy 100,000 light years in diameter.

5. The biggest comet

Comet 2060 Centaur Chiron was discovered in 1977 is the largest known comet with a diameter of 182 km.2060 Chiron is a planet beyond the Solar System. Discovered in 1977 by Charles T. Kowal (Precovery images have been found as far back as 1895), this is the first known member of a new class of objects now known as the Centaurs, with the trajectories between Saturn and Uranus.

6. Largest asteroids

1 Ceres with a diameter of 941 km is the largest asteroid. In addition, asteroids are also recorded an asteroid was first discovered.

7. Biggest Black Hole

OJ 287 is a black hole that is claimed to be the largest known, with masses more than six times the value previously calculated for the largest object. The object was about 3.5 billion light years, and is the biggest black hole ever. This hole contains 18 billion suns

8. Nebula Largest

Orion Nebula (M42) is the largest nebula in the sky and can be seen with the naked eye. This nebula extends 66x60 arc minutes, covering four times the area of the moon, and has a diameter of 30 light years (180 trillion miles). This gas is created by a young star only 25,000 years old. Terllihat a lot of color is yellow because the red light out of the hydrogen is incorporated together with the green emission from oxygen. Orion's belt of three stars, Mintaka (the smallest), Alnitak, and Alnilam (largest and intelligent).

Best Space Photo Collection version of AOL

Universe, a "masterpiece" of the Creator who will not be discussed out, how unique and mysterious a vast space which stores various science, galaxies, stars, planets and behavior. Now the other side of the clay we best photographic art space, at least this is AOL saying.
